This absurdity baffled me. Never mind all the tattoos, piercings, protestings, and random clowns floating around Portland. That generally doesn't bother me at all. The lens-less glasses, however, were indeed ridiculous to me in the most lame kind of way. I felt a blog post rising within me. Like most people in Portland, I too found myself highly annoyed over something really stupid.
Then two days later my friend Danielle posted the following photo of me on Facebook. Thank God I will never be accused of donning lame glasses. Whew.

A few years ago when Jeff Gray was visiting us, we went to downtown Portland in the middle of a scorching heat wave. People were hanging out of their cars staring at something behind us as they drove past. There was a STARK NAKED MAN sauntering down the street. I was horrified.
Thank God no one has naked pictures of me to post on facebook.

So are there holes in the lenses?
The lens of the glasses I'm wearing don't have holes. They were on display next to an eye exam chart in some artsy store in Seattle.
